RE: "Customer Disservice" in the "Comcast Must Die" blog You all have just seen how much I am saving, by "bucking" the system and going with the basics! It is not just Comcast's "Customer Service" that is a disservice, most companies have poor customer service. We all need to take up the slack, by first knowing all there is to know about all the services that you are getting ready to (or already) subscribe to! THAT'S #1! Keep track of everything: acct #s, usernames, passwords, etc... This is your responsibility and yours alone! Write all these things down on seperate index cards and KEEP THEM ALL IN ONE BOX! Never give anyone this responsibility, for this responsibility is yours and yours alone! I am known as "THE ORGANIZER!" and "The Thrift Queen" and "Soldier Girl" and "Slave Sendi", all for good reason. Because I am all these things! "THE ORGANIZER" is obvious, for I organize everything and I know everything and where everything is, and when something is out of its place! "The Thrift Queen" is obvious too! I don't like to waste my hard earned money on ANYTHING OR ANYONE! "Soldier Girl" is not so obvious, because it takes a lot to make me angry. But if I do become angry, WATCH OUT, cause I can be vicious! This name also reflects that I am a_soldier_for_christ (hince my email address). "Slave Sendi" is not so obvious either, because I really am no slave at all! I like the spelling of Sendi (as in Cindy), and the slave part really reflects that I AM A SERVANT OF JESUS CHRIST and my fellow (and HIS) followers and servants! Anywho, here is a little rundown on what it would cost (per month) if I were to join "the rat race". $75 (apprx aver) Landline phone with long distance. $100 (apprx aver) Cell Phone $65 Broadband (apprx min) $65 Digital Cable (starter after 6 months) And then, who knows the taxes, other fees and other products you've got to pay for?! Just with what I've listed, that would cost me a total of $305! Like I said, there's other charges not listed. I would have to have a second income, just to afford all of that! I am not willing! I'll stick with my $83 per month, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! And I mustn't neglect to mention that I would never get locked down in a morgage, a car payment, outrageous insurance, etc... I pay everything I pay for in full. Never will I ever make minimum payments to anyone! OWE NO MAN! This is what JESUS CHRIST commands! I do have a checkings and savings accts, but I refuse to have a single CREDIT CARD, Instore-credit accts, mail-order credit accts, and anyother credit acct for that matter! Anyway, I hope that this has somewhat helped! Please don't see my words as judgments of any kind! I care about you and all, and don't want to see any of us stressing out over "worldly matters"! I'll just call you Evanston, if that's ok?! I totally understand where you are coming from! I just stick with the basics: simple phone service (Qwest-$35 monthly), dialup ISP (People PC-$16 monthly), a prepaid cell (Nokia Tracfone-$35 quarterly), and basic cable (currently Comcast-$20 monthly). All these simple services (of which are of no less quality than the high priced services) costs me only $83 per month! Hit all these Companies where it hurts the most! Their high priced services are no better than the cheap basics!

Today (March 12, 2008) I received my Comcast Cable Bill. I noticed that the envelope was especially thick and decided to open it up to see why. There was the Bill, and after seeing a Rate Increase, I also saw a long page with all their products and services and their Rate Increases. They also included a booklet called "Comcast Agreement for Residential Services". This really shouldn't have surprised me (for they raise their rates every year), but I finally just said, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ALREADY!" I read everything thoroughly and knew what my rights were and then I called to DOWNGRADE. The Comcast Representative was trying to pleasantly pressure me to either change my mind or to UPGRADE to a Special Digital Package, informing me that, "This way you'll be ready in February 2009 when all Cable goes Digital." I politely answered, "I'll worry about that next year, but for now I'm tired of paying so much for so little!" She replied, "Well, the DIGITAL STARTER will only cost you $33 per month for 6 months. That's less than what you are paying now!" But she didn't realize that I knew what it would cost me after that 6 months were up! I said, "No thank you! I want to downgrade." She said, "Mam, there will be a downgrade fee of $12.99 and I can send someone out tomorrow." I replied, "At the bottom of your Rate Increase Page, it clearly states, if I call within 30 days of receiving this notice, that ALL DOWNGRADES AND UPGRADES ARE FREE OF CHARGE. But if I call after that 30 days, then there will be a $12.99 downgrade fee or a $14.99 upgrade fee. I am calling you today (the day I received this notice) to inform you that I wish to downgrade, and therefore this DOWNGRADE IS FREE OF CHARGE." She admitted I was right and this DOWNGRADE would take place tomorrow FREE OF CHARGE. I am writing you all (however you may be) to let you know that YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE IT ANYMORE! It is time for the people to let their voices be heard and to take action against ALL THESE MONEY AND POWER HUNGRY ORGANIZATIONS! NOW IS THE TIME FOR YOU AND ALL TO TAKE ACTION! Send your message, but hitting them where it will hurt the most! DOWNGRADE OR DISCONTINUE NOW! By the time February 2009 comes, they will be ready to listen to and work for the people!
